This was my first pregnancy, and Yolandi and Cat made me feel safe, supported, and empowered every step of the way—from pregnancy to labor and through the postpartum period.
One of my biggest concerns about having a child was that my own health and well-being would be depleted in the process. Instead, following their nutritional guidance, I felt stronger and healthier than I ever have, both during pregnancy and postpartum.
Their care is truly comprehensive. They go far beyond standard prenatal care by analyzing lab results, providing personalized dietary recommendations, offering prenatal yoga, creating a wonderful community where you can connect with other mothers, and providing emotional support throughout the journey. I also appreciated their preventative approach to care, which I believe helped make my labor and delivery smoother and more manageable.
When I was in labor, Yolandi expertly guided me through different positions at each stage to help my body progress naturally. She also coached my husband on techniques to help relieve discomfort, making him an active and invaluable part of the birth experience. Her expertise and hands-on support gave me confidence throughout the entire process and allowed me to fully surrender to the experience.
I am incredibly grateful for their care and wholeheartedly recommend them to any expecting mother.-

My experience with Mystic felt deeply personal to both me and my birth journey. We knew we wanted a home birth, but as first-time parents, we had no idea what that would truly look like or who could help guide us through it. We interviewed several practices, and knew Mystic was the right fit the moment we spoke with Yolandi on the phone.
Everything we hoped for in our pregnancy and birth experience was provided tenfold through Mystic: autonomy in my pregnancy, informed consent in every major decision, thoughtful functional care with root-cause assessments, and an environment that was supportive, honest, transparent, and completely judgment-free. We also found ourselves surrounded by a community of like-minded families who deeply value the health and wellbeing of both mother and baby.
Mystic empowered my husband and me to feel confident and in control throughout our journey to a home birth. During labor, which lasted more than 24 hours, I never once felt rushed or pressured. Quite the opposite: I felt calm, supported, and able to let my baby arrive in his own time. Yolandi and Sofia mirrored that same calm, patient presence throughout the birth. Their professionalism, gentle energy, and the intentional way they communicate made all the difference. The tone of their voices, the steadiness they brought into our home, and the trust they instilled in us created such a peaceful experience.
We are incredibly grateful we chose Mystic for this chapter of our lives. Huge thank you to Yolandi, Cat, Sofia, and Anne for everything they do to empower families to have safe and accessible home-births.

I had previously had a hospital birth and it of course ended up in an unnecessary C-Section. After many hrs of the Dr telling me I should just get a C-Section I finally gave in. I regretted allowing that to happen and the C-Section ended up stopping me from getting pregnant again for many years without my knowing why. I finally found out through surgery that the scar tissue from my C-Section had grabbed onto my tubes and tangled them so I could not get pregnant. I had to do a whole procedure to get them untangled.
So once I finally got my body fixed up and then pregnant again I knew I needed a midwife and a natural birth far away from a hospital. I wanted nothing to do with hospitals ever again.
So when I met Cat and Yolandi I knew they were the perfect fit for my home birth. The fact that I was doing regular blood tests and making sure my nutrition was optimized and helping me supplement where I needed it - was incredible. I was so happy to have that extra help to make sure my baby had the best start possible.
I ended up being so lucky to have picked Mystic waters because I ended up having a surprise breach birth. She turned last min in labor but previously the whole birth she had been face down.
Most midwives do NOT deliver breach babies so I was incredibly grateful that I had chosen Mystic waters because my birth was so fast for my second that I don’t think I would have made it to the hospital and they would have made me do a C-section again which I really did not want to ever go through again.
So I got the birth I always wanted and delivered a beautiful baby girl VBAC breach at home and it was 4 hrs total labor.
I was able to go straight to bed with my baby after the birth. It was so amazing and an experience I am so grateful to have. It was exactly what I needed.
I will definitely go with Mystic waters again for my next baby.
My whole pregnancy and birth was a night and day difference from my first and I know it was because of everything I did while pregnant and the labor with Mystic Waters. I cannot recommend them enough!

Cat and Yolandi delivered our healthy firstborn baby at home, and my husband and I are deeply grateful to them. They balanced gentle, intimate care with unwavering professionalism and confidence. Whenever I had concerns or questions, they patiently addressed them, offering reassurance when needed. They also learned and honored my preferred communication style and check in frequency.

Highly highly recommend Cat and Yolandi!
When I was pregnant with my first child, we met Yolandi when she was at another practice(birth center). My husband was initially skeptical of the whole home birth experience which is why we did a birth center for the first. Yolandi was so fantastic through the whole experience that my husband immediately said home birth for the 2nd and actually wished we did it for the first ! When we got pregnant with our 2nd child, we immediately texted Yolandi to let her know.
We are so happy with the level of care we got from this practice and how easy the whole home birth experience was with them. They are both so confident and calming through every step of your journey.
They are also focused on establishing a community and not just a birth service. It was so nice to meet other like minded families through them with the events.
Every one of my friends who is trying to get pregnant or currently pregnant I keep recommend this team.
We will definitely be returning clients when we are ready to welcome our next child!

10/10 cannot recommend this team enough.
It's hard to sit down and put into actual words how grateful I am to have had both Cat and Yolandi's care throughout our (first) pregnancy, into birth and postpartum.
From the beginning, we felt a home birth was for us and wanted to find a team where we felt 100% safe and supported. Many midwifes were recommended to us, but from the moment we spoke with Cat, we knew she was different and that this was the right team for us.
Throughout pregnancy, I was supported way more than I imagined I would be in my prenatal care. Yolandi was incredible with optimizing my physical health and energy through her functional medicine work. Cat's experience and knowledge was extremely helpful in all things pregnancy. Her prenatal yoga classes were amazing to take advantage of and helped my body adjust tremendously. Not only did I physically feel incredible because of all these services, I was truly educated and empowered due to both of their knowledge, love, attention and care.
There's no doubt that this prenatal care set the foundation for a very empowering home birth and also a smooth transition (and great recovery) postpartum, into motherhood.
Our birth was nothing I ever could have expected or prepared for, which is why I'm so grateful Yolandi was by my side. Throughout labor, she was present yet allowed the space to have my experience. She was always connected, had a pulse on what was happening and educated me on what was going on when I asked. She and Hagen knew exactly what I needed when I needed it throughout the entire experience. Sometimes soft, loving support and other times, a strong empowering voice and hand. The relationship Yolandi and I built and the trust I had in this team because of their love, care and wisdom is what allowed for this home birth to be as successful and incredible as it was.
I cannot recommend this team enough. I truly was supported in so many ways from the first visit with Cat to the moment my happy, healthy daughter was in my arms and into becoming a mom. I am forever grateful to have had this team by our side.

I cannot recommend Yolandi and Cat enough! The support I felt from them throughout my first pregnancy put me so much at ease. Cat facilitated educational classes on birth, the birthing process, breastfeeding, and postpartum care. This was extremely helpful for me but also for my husband to be able to understand the birthing process and what to expect for a home birth. At around 35 weeks we discovered my baby was breach. As a team we discussed all of the options available moving forward. We chose to attempt an ECV (which was successful) and Yolandi was with us every step of the way. Leading up to the birth of my baby I was having contractions nightly for 3 nights. Yolandi was always a call or text away and was ready to come as soon as I needed her. We had already discussed taking castor oil if things were not progressing (this was one day before reaching 42 weeks). I ended up taking three rounds of castor oil and some other herbs Yolandi had, but unfortunately I did not progress. At this point we made the decision to go to the hospital where they tried to induce me, the baby’s heart rate wasn’t responding as it should, so ended up having a c-section. While I didn’t have the home birth I hoped for, the care given was amazing. My biggest fear in a home birth was what if something goes wrong. I can assure you that Yolandi and Cat will be open and honest about your options and will put yours and your baby’s wellbeing first.

I had a wonderful experience and would recommend this midwife team to anyone. I appreciated how much care and attention they put towards me during all of our appointments. When it came to the day of the birth, I felt like I was in the best hands. I love this team and definitely plan on using them again for baby number 2!

Cat and Yolandi are amazing midwives, who both bring different outlooks, education/training, and experiences that made my care very well rounded. I loved feeling that I was being heard and thoroughly cared for as an individual in every step of my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care. It is so important to be selective in your choice for midwives because the bond you create is unlike any other and so sacred. I feel fully secure in the decision I made with Cat and Yolandi. I HIGHLY recommend this midwifery as it was grounded and supportive in my journey and is why I will stick with Mystic Waters for my future pregnancy(s) as well

My Experience with Cat and Yolandi have been absolutely amazing! I could never imagine a more beautiful pregnancy and birth experience. Prior to meeting these lovely souls I was with a OB who I’m sure barely knew my name, didn’t come in the room for more than 5 minutes and seemed stand offish when we talked about respecting my natural birth decisions. I started looking for a more natural/holistic OB or midwife when god put these ladies in my path accidentally! Never in a million years would I think I would do a home birth but I am so very happy I did; home birth with these ladies was the best decision I’ve ever made. Not only was I well taken care of and heard throughout my pregnancy and birth but I have had multiple home visits postpartum as well as assistance with nursing. You will not regret coming to these ladies for your pregnancy and birth!
Thank you so much Cat and Yolandi🤍

I transferred to Mystic Waters at 32 weeks pregnant because of various reasons. Cat and Yolandi were willing to take me on and even took time to build relationships with me to ensure i’d be comfortable during the birth. They answered questions, were knowledgeable, and had a peace and gentleness about them that made me confident in my decision to change providers.
During my labor, Yolandi was exactly the right amount of present. She was nearby and ready to go when the pushing began, but never got in the way of my body’s natural progression. She offered encouragement and gave me informed options. After my baby was born, Yolandi and nurse Lauren were so helpful in helping clean up, getting me things I needed and taking care of the newborn things. Everything flowed so naturally and I credit a lot of that to Yolandi trusting my body to do what it needed to do during labor and post birth. That first day was truly bliss because of their support and the support of my doula at Beloved Births, Faith.
Post Partum has been amazing as well, as both Yolandi and Cat have provided several phone calls and home visits to help me through a dislocated pubic bone, given me a referral to a pelvic floor specialist and listened to all my concerns/questions. I LOVED my experience with Mystic Waters. 🤍
Thank you so much Cat and Yolandi🤍

A Journey of Trust, Care, and Empowerment: My Experience with Yolandi, Cat and Mystic Waters Midwifery Collective.
When my husband and I began our journey into pregnancy, we had a clear vision of what we wanted: a peaceful, informed, and empowering experience. I had meticulously planned every detail, from contraception to every step in between. The one thing I hadn’t prepared for, though, was the sudden difficulty in finding a midwife.
Initially, I reached out to my sister’s midwife, only to find that she had retired from midwifery practice. My heart sank. I asked for recommendations, and my sister provided me with two names. Unfortunately, both midwives were fully booked and no longer accepting new clients. I felt a deep sense of loss and uncertainty.
Then, I received a message from the first midwife, recommending Yolandi. After doing some research, I was impressed by Yolandi’s experience and credentials. My husband and I decided to meet with her, unsure of what to expect, but hopeful that she might be the right fit. From the moment we sat down with Yolandi, we both knew instantly that she was exactly the midwife I had been searching for. Her calm demeanour, wealth of experience, and genuine care resonated with us. It was a perfect match.
During our meeting, Yolandi asked us thoughtful questions—not only to understand my needs but also to ensure that we were the right fit for her practice. I had never encountered a midwife who was so discerning about the clients she works with. This gave me an even deeper sense of trust in her approach. Later, I would come to understand why her selectivity was so important.
Choosing a midwife is not just about finding someone to manage a pregnancy; it’s about finding a guide, an advocate, and someone who can help a woman feel safe and supported in one of the most vulnerable experiences of her life. Yolandi became my voice during my pregnancy. She provided the clarity, information, and emotional support I needed at every step.
With her soft voice and healing touch, Yolandi helped me navigate the complexities of pregnancy, empowering both me and my husband. From the first, non-invasive check-up to the birth of our healthy baby girl in the comfort of our home, every moment was filled with care and respect. I was able to labor for 40 hours in the sanctuary of my own living room, knowing Yolandi was there by my side, guiding me through each moment, even when my baby was breech until the very last minute.
Without Yolandi’s expertise and her unwavering support, I don’t believe I would have had the positive birth experience that I did. The experience was empowering, peaceful, and full of love. I will always be grateful to her for the role she played in one of the most transformative experiences of my life.
I also want to give credit to Yolandi’s team, particularly Miss Catherine, whose prenatal yoga, parenting, and breastfeeding classes were a vital part of my preparation. The collective care and resources I received from Mystic Waters Midwifery Collective helped me feel informed and empowered in my choices. I was never pressured or rushed; instead, I was given the space to make my own decisions about how I wanted my pregnancy to unfold.
Looking back, I am filled with gratitude and deep appreciation for Yolandi and her team. I feel so lucky to have had the support of such skilled and compassionate people. I look forward to choosing Yolandi again for future pregnancies and I wholeheartedly recommend Mystic Waters Midwifery Collective to anyone seeking a truly personalized, holistic, and empowering birth experience.

Highly, highly recommend this skilled team of midwives!! Yolandi was our midwife for the care and birth of our third baby this past December, words can’t describe how wonderful her care is. Her attention to detail, her wisdom and knowledge of nutrition/gut health/overall health, her functional medicine background is all second to how it feels getting to know her. Yolandi made sure at every appointment my concerns and questions were heard and met. She respected my opinions, supported my choices and helped me achieve my water birth plan. Postpartum she was so attentive to baby and myself, she helped work through breastfeeding issues with me and always promptly got back to me when I reached out. So blessed to have met and worked with her!

Yolandi was my midwife this past January as we welcomed our second child into this world through our dream home birth in the water. Her care throughout my pregnancy was wonderful, placing full trust in my body, which in turn, allowed me to give full trust in myself. Her home visits made it beyond easy, especially having a toddler at home and incorporating him into visits was truly special. Her knowledge of nutrition was incredible, helping me through concerns of Gestational Diabetes (which I encountered my first pregnancy) so that my levels stayed steady through the entire pregnancy. For the birth, she followed my body's cues, giving gentle suggestions at the perfect moments, and I have never felt more in my power. I would highly suggest Yolandi and the practice she has created through Mystic Waters for any mama looking to be supported safely through their home birth. I am forever grateful for the birth portal we created together!

I had the privilege of having Yolandi help me bring 2 of 3 of my babies into this world. She was an amazing support before, during, and after birth. I can not say enough wonderful things about her. Any questions I had about having a VBAC, she had answers for, any doubts or fears I had, she reassured me that I could do it and if at all there were any hurdles, she would be there to support me and help me figure it out.
My first baby was in the hospital, with no support system, my OB was not on call, and I had not done any real research on what to expect. I just assumed I would be getting the birth experience I imagined. It ended in getting induced, the dr broke my water, epidural, persuaded into a csection after being there for only 12 hours with little progression. Feeling the pressure of being rushed and being told there was a possibility this could become an emergency csection, I agreed to it. My post op nurse was inconsiderate of this being my first time and not knowing how to start my healing process. Drs and nurses were in and out of the room which was keeping me from getting any real rest. The day they discharged me was a whirlwind of instructions and tons of medications. I could barely walk. I knew I did not want this outcome for me or my child again.
Fast forward, I found out I was pregnant again and knew I wanted a midwife/home birth. Yolandi was "gifted" to me when my original midwife was overbooked for my projected due date. Some of my fears pre- baby were- I would not be able to progress, getting my baby out safely, possibility of uterine rupture, hemorrhage, all of the extreme things that our minds think up. I expressed this to her and she reassured me that she was well versed in "emergencies" and knew the signs and symptoms to look for well ahead of time. She advised me on what supplements and vitamins to take, exercises to do at home, and keep a well balanced diet throughout the pregnancy. Our prenatal visits were always a pleasure- discussions about the baby's progress as well as personal things. I had never had a medical professional take the time to talk to me and inquire about my personal life. What a friendship we have made!
She showed up to my birth for my daughter at 3am- confident, loving, gentle, and giving me all the best advice during labor. My confidence had sky rocketed when I gave birth to the most beautiful little girl.
For my 2nd VBAC and 3rd child, Yolandi spent much more time with me as I was in labor for a longer period of time. Not one moment did I feel rushed or pressured. Her kind heart and her birthing knowledge were vital to another successful VBAC. There was a moment or 2 during labor where I felt like I was not going to be able to keep going but Yolandi's constant advice and support gave me that push I needed. I am confident that I was able to deliver naturally, in my home, in a comfortable environment, in part because of Yolandi. She reminded me to change positions, drink water, eat a snack here and there if I could, and rest when I needed to. The ambiance during my labor was calming, warm, and everything I had hoped and prayed for. My baby boy made his appearance and it was breathtaking and so surreal to have accomplished something so supernatural.
I cannot thank you enough Yolandi- for your kindness, thoughtfulness, widsom, and knowledge! You are an angel on Earth!

Yolandi created the most safe, relaxed and beautiful experience I could have possibly imagined for my first birth bringing my baby boy into the world. After only 6 hours of labor in the comfort of my home and staying in close contact with me, I went to meet Yolandi to give birth. The moment I arrived she held me close like a mom and gave me the most needed intimate hug in the moment reassuring me it was time and I was safe which allowed me to completely relax and release myself to the process. I gave birth easily 45 minutes later in the water and it was beautiful! Can’t wait to experience it again with her ❤️ Most caring and compassionate, loving experience exactly how I imagined. The care never stopped after birth either. In home post visit, phone calls, and a relationship we will cherish forever!

Yolandi is wonderful! She is knowledgeable , kind, and caring . Both my husband and I really enjoyed working with her, she took great care of us. Thank you Yolandi !

I had the pleasure of working with Yolandi this past week as a doula for our mutual client and I have to say it was an absolute pleasure. She was so patient with this client, giving her options all along the way, never pressuring her to move faster or make a different decision - and offering suggestions for position changes throughout labor and delivery.
For having never met her before she was immediately kind, inviting, and welcomed a team atmosphere in the birth space.
Truly a warm and therapeutic presence that anyone would be lucky to have at their birth!

I cannot recommend Yolandi highly enough. She came into my life late in my pregnancy, but her impact was nothing short of transformative. From the moment we connected, she took the time to help me understand all my options, empowering me to make informed decisions that aligned with my wishes for both my pregnancy and birth.
Her calming presence was exactly what I needed during such an important time. She became not only my guide but the ideal (other) partner to have in my birthing space. 😉 I am forever grateful for her role in bringing my beautiful daughter into the world.
Yolandi is truly a gift to anyone fortunate enough to have her as part of their journey.
